Collabor8's Background

Collabor8 has been established by John Evans to focus on delivering positive outcomes through collaboroation for long term success

John's experiences as a senior executive and board leader has shaped the approach of collaboration and focus on positive outcomes

John has worked in a range of industries across private, public and third sectors in the UK and elsewhere.  He has also held a number of roles in sport and sporting organisations.

John’s thinking has been influenced by studying a wide range of individuals and organisations ranging from Bayern Munich Football Club to the Apollo missions, large-scale entertainment events and digital entrepreneurs.

John’s overall approach is best summed up by one of his 1:1 coaching clients.  Kristof is a gymnast looking at the next stage of his life and career.

Case Studies

Dispute Resolution 

John led the joint work between management and trade unions in a global drinks company to progress from an environment of strikes, turmoil and uncertainty to a position of employment security, customer-focused production and financial certainty. 

Key to this outcome was the work done to set out the challenges faced by all parties involved and then the engagement of a wide range of leaders and stakeholders to develop shared solutions and options. 

John led the project team in its design and set up and helped all involved to lead when required and draw on resources and others throughout the 2-year project. 

Business Funding during Covid 

John had just joined a startup economic agency when the Covid pandemic hit and the focus of the new entity moved from start-up to grant funding for businesses and organisations facing obliteration as a result of the pandemic. 

John led the team drawn from staff who had just started in the agency and weren’t necessarily experienced in business support or funding. The team focused on communication, high levels of support and advice for the organisations requesting support and even when financial help couldn’t be provided the team worked hard to provide advice and to explore other options with those in need through collaboration with other agencies. 

Strong control allowed good governance even with such a hectic pace of work and the project drew praise from local and national elected representatives and bodies.
